A California native, Dr. Soleymani was born and raised in Los Angeles. He completed his undergraduate studies in Evolutionary Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning both Derpartmental and Latin Honors. He went on to graduate from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, during which time he was awarded numerous accolades and distinctions for scholastic achievement, including the Dean's Awards of Excellence in Histology, Physiology, Neuroscience, Anatomy, and Pathology, ultimately leading to a Summative Dean's Award of Scholastic Excellence. He was elected to the National Pathology Honor Society and inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, an honor considered widely to be the most prestigious academic award bestowed in medical school. Dr. Solymani completed his internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, CA, where he was awarded the first UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Award. He went on to complete a fellowship in Dermatopharmacology, Clinical Trials and Drug Development at Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU in New York City, during which time he was an investigator for 14 different phase I-III clinical trials in dermatology. His work during his fellowship earned him the coveted Maurice Husik, MD Award for Best Research. Dr.Soleymani went on to complete his residency in Dermatology at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, during which time he was the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, including the Tenth Annyal Rising Derm Stars Competition Award and the Anita Gilliam, MD Award for the Pacific Dermatologic Association. In addition to his scholastic achievements, Dr. Soleymani has authored several scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters in dermatology textbooks. He has presented and lectured at local, regional and national academic conferences and remains active in clinical and translation research regarding dermatologic oncology and surgical reconstruction. In his spare time, Dr. Soleymani enjoys spending quality time with his wife and son, staying active, and traveling.
